About us
What we're
all about?
Our History
In September 1992, the MHOTIVO Foundation was established by a group of businessmen from San Pedro Sula to contribute to the education and development of Honduras. With the support of experts in pedagogy, law, administration, and engineering, they were dedicated to establishing the Foundation’s basic operating standards, conceptualizing educational programs, designing and constructing facilities, and raising funds.
This project was launched with the mission of promoting high-quality educational programs for children and young people with limited financial resources. It is based on instilling in individuals the highest moral, spiritual, and national identity values, along with environmental education and the promotion of corporate social responsibility.

Learning Pathways
Preschool
Our primary foundation for children’s education is the national basic curriculum, merged with the Optimist, Montessori, and Oxford methodologies. We call this fusion the MHOTIVO Project, which is updated annually to suit the needs of our students.
Our methodology is based on language immersion, offering children aged 3 to 6 an environment rich in sensory and motor stimuli that foster their development. Play, an essential activity in early childhood education, serves as a learning medium through which children explore and acquire various learning experiences.
This blend of methodologies helps maximize the development of boys’ and girls’ abilities, laying strong foundations for their future learning.
Elementary and Middle School
The curriculum is organized into development areas stipulated by the National Basic Curriculum. At Mhotivo Foundation, we include a fourth area: the learning of a second language (English).
These development areas structure experiences for learning, helping to plan pedagogical actions in an organized manner. Each area includes content blocks focusing on essential aspects of students’ educational growth, further enriched through our MHOTIVO Project with classes taught by specialized teachers.
High School Education
Our institution employs the Constructivist Method, which provides the necessary resources for teaching in an orderly, methodical, and appropriate manner. These methods and techniques aim to make the learning process more efficient, allowing students to acquire knowledge, skills, and the ideals that our educational center seeks to instill in them with less effort.
Extracurricular Classes
The goal of extracurricular classes is to help students expand their musical, visual, performing arts, cultural, and sports knowledge. This fosters personal development that goes beyond daily life, while also allowing students to identify and appreciate fundamental elements such as visual and musical genres, rhythm, instrumentation, voice projection, body expression, diction, singing, theater, dance, design, and sport.
Extracurricular Classes
- Discover and enhance the abilities, talents, skills, and aptitudes of the children and young people at the MHOTIVO Foundation.
- Promote the spirit of personal improvement, self-discipline, respect for others, and teamwork.
- Culturally promote musical, visual, performing arts, and sports education.
- Promote intellectual development as a foundation for students.
- Help students acquire skills in various artistic and sports disciplines.
- Foster study and training to achieve personal autonomy and independence.
- Help students develop knowledge in classical, folkloric, and popular styles, painting techniques, and sports techniques.
Campus
The student campuses of Mhotivo Foundation are designed to create an environment where academics, sports, arts, and culture come together as integral parts of students’ education. Each classroom is equipped with pedagogical tools to enhance the learning process.
Success stories and testimonials:
Carla Vanessa Zaldivar Zaldivar
Born in San Pedro Sula, the daughter of Carlos Zaldívar and Wendy Zaldívar, Carla’s talent for singing was discovered at age 5 when she performed Michael Jackson’s song «BEN» for the first time. This performance marked the beginning of her many achievements, eventually leading her to compete in one of Spain’s most recognized talent shows. Carla earned the golden pass with a standout performance, and she won the reality show Idol Kids in Spain after delivering a powerful rendition of «Feeling Good.» Her talent left a lasting impact on both the judges and her Honduran supporters who followed her journey.
